Cary Bernstein, WIF Member, opens Spay Neuter Clinic in Charlotte (September 18, 2011).

Anne Pipkin, Special Events Chair on WIF's Board of Directors was named to the YWCA Board of Directors (August, 2011).  Here is what the YWCA says about Anne: Anne Pipkin is the owner of Gorgeous GLO, a regional leader in the healthful spray tanning industry. She previously served as president and founder of APB Beverages LLC and Around Town Inc. In addition, she was vice president and managing director at First Union National Bank, where she was the founder of its investment banking group which provided financing and mergers & acquisition funding for life and property/casualty insurance companies in the United States. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Virginia with additional coursework completed at the London School of Economics. Pipkin currently serves on the board of directors for The Fletcher School and the Women’s Impact Fund. In addition, she is part of the regional selection committee for the University of Virginia's Jefferson Scholar Selection and serves on Elon University's Parents' Council. Previously she served as the board chair of the Council for Children’s Rights and as a board member of the Mint Museum of Art, Charlotte Speech & Hearing Center and the Junior League of Charlotte. Pipkin is welcomed back to the board, as she served as the board chair for YWCA Central Carolinas in 2008-2009 and also chaired YWCA’s Comprehensive Campaign of 2006-2007.

Claire Tate (WIF Founder), Executive Director of P.O.S.T. (Partners in Out of School Time) was highlighted in the Charlotte Observer article "Giving kids the gift of nature is in her nature" (July 17, 2011)

Toni Freeman and Cyndee Patterson were inducted into NPower Charlotte Region's Hall of Fame in May, 2011

Patty Morton has been named to the Johnson C. Smith University Board of Trustees (Charlotte Observer - May 22, 2011)

Dianne Bailey was named a 2011 Women In Business Achievement Award Winner by the Charlotte Business Journal (May 19, 2011)

Vibrant Living, a new magazine targeted at baby boomers debuts today.   This is the first English-language publication from La Noticia Publishing Company.  The cover story features WIF Board Chair Elaine Lyerly.  (Charlotte Observer - May 3, 2011)

Women Executives has announced their new Board for Fiscal 2011, including WIF members Martha Schweppe (VP, Membership) and Dianne Bailey (Secretary).  (April, 2011)

Molly Shaw was named as one of the Charlotte Observer's "Seven to Watch" in 2011. Molly is Director of the Charlotte Teachers Institute.  She currently serves on the WIF Board of Directors and is the Member Education Committee Chair.  (12/27/10)

Ruth Shaw has been named the 2010 Oustanding Volunteer Fundraiser by the Charlotte Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. (8/27/2010)

Kristin Hills Bradberry has been named the 2010 Outstanding Professional Fundraising Executive by the Charlotte Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. (8/27/2010)

Cathy Bessant has been named 2010 Charlotte Business Woman of the Year by Queens University.
