Letter of Inquiry

A Letter of Inquiry form is a two-page form to be completed by an organization that wishes to make the Grants Committee aware of a potential project. The Grants Committee will review the Letters of Inquiry during the initial research phase of the grant process. 

Deadline:  Letter of Inquiry forms will be accepted on a rolling basis starting August 20, 2008. The final deadline to submit a Letter of Inquiry for consideration in the 2008-09 grant cycle is October 27, 2008.

IMPORTANT:  Letters of Inquiry are not grant proposals.  They are strictly for preliminary information-gathering purposes.  Submitting a Letter of Inquiry does not guarantee formal consideration for funding.

If you are unable to download the Letter of Inquiry form, please contact Donna Stoeling at the Women’s Impact Fund office at womensimpactfund@fftc.org or 704.973.4589 and she can e-mail you an attachment with the Letter of Inquiry form.


Submitting the Letter of Inquiry Form

  1. Letter of Inquiry forms are due in the Women’s Impact Fund office by October 27, 2008. Letter of Inquiry forms received after this date will be held for possible consideration in the 2009-10 grant cycle.
  2. Letter of Inquiry forms must be submitted to the Women’s Impact Fund electronically to: womensimpactfund@fftc.org.
  3. Organizations may submit only one Letter of Inquiry per grant cycle. 
  4. Although no attachments are necessary, agencies may attach a single annual report or an agency brochure.
  5. The Women’s Impact Fund will confirm the receipt of all Letter of Inquiry forms via postcard no later than November 14, 2008.  Organizations that do not receive such notification should contact the Women’s Impact Fund office at 704.973.4589.

Please note that a maximum of 20 organizations will be invited to submit formal grant proposals.  These organizations will be notified by mail by December 11, 2008.  All organizations are invited to remain informed about our process by visiting our website or contacting the Women’s Impact Fund office at any time.
